When it came down to deciding a theme for my daughter’s first birthday party, there seemed to be an endless array of options, but none of them really resonated with me. I wanted to choose a theme that my soon to be one-year-old would get excited about when she saw the place, but at the same time I wanted to have it be pretty for mom to enjoy as well. ☺ She wasn’t familiar with characters just yet but I knew she looooved balloons, so after some research it was a no-brainer to go with a balloon themed birthday party. I wanted her to enjoy her birthday party as much as possible with other children the same age as her. I picked Little Rascals Club House so she could enjoy playing and hanging out with kids from our family/friends during her party.

Thanks to my good friend Martha from Martha & Co., we designed the adult tables with giant balloons with gold tassels attached as a runner across the tables. Placed between the balloons were pastel colored vases filled with light colored flowers. I used mint green polyester linen from Milla Party Rentals for the larger tables with pink and gold matching plates, cups and napkins. For the kids’ table, we did bunches of balloons with floral vases as well. We used light pink polyester linen for the kids’ table with mint green tableware. I also had goodie bags on the kids’ table next to each table setting. The goodie bags was made with burlap and embellished with colorful balloons & underneath personalized with, “Ella’s 1st Birthday Party.” I used pastel colors such as mint green, light pink, ivory tones with hints of sparkly gold because I wanted a happier, kid-friendly vibe for the party.

The dessert table had balloon themed desserts like cake pops and cupcakes provided by Dapper Baby Cakes. The two-tier birthday cake by Cake Studio LA had colorful balloons on it with a mint color base and it was almost too pretty to even cut to eat lol. The cake was topped with a balloon topper with Ella’s name by A Work Of Heart. My Ella’s name was spelled out with white plaque letters covered with pink baby roses and was placed in the front of the table. The background of the desert table was plain white draping with bunches of pastel balloons in a garland around the border and going all the way down the right side of the dessert table.

Overall, the birthday party turned out really fun and I was really proud of how well Ella did throughout the day. I must say it felt like I was planning her wedding that month of lol. I’m excited for her future birthday parties because I get to be creative at the same time incorporating themes that will put a smile on her face ☺
