Miami Trip

I had been thinking about taking a trip to Miami with my husband since I was pregnant with my daughter (she is now 15 months old). I kept putting it off after I had the baby because I had major mom guilt and couldn’t imagine leaving her for five days. After two months of contemplation (lol) I finally booked our trip through the Elenora Travel Agency. I was both excited about the trip and super anxious about being away from Ella for that long since I had only been away from her for one full day since she was born. I knew she would be totally fine and have a blast with her grandmas while we were away, but the thought of missing her fed my anxiety. I just kept in mind how much I needed this trip and some alone time with my hubby, and that when I came back she would be right where we left her. ☺

During our stay in Miami, we didn’t have such great weather. It was tropical weather with some rain, but we did have sunshine for a whole day lol. We made the best of it and enjoyed as much of the city as possible, rain or shine. I had gotten some recommendations on places to visit from friends that had already been to Miami, so we could fully experience Miami Beach as much as possible. One of my favorite places we went to was the first night’s dinner at Seaspice restaurant. It was a seafood restaurant with incredibly fresh and tasteful food. We were sitting outside overlooking the Miami River. The restaurant was surrounded by beautiful scenery, and with some drinks it was the perfect way to start the vacation.

We stayed at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach and our hotel had the perfect daytime relaxation with the beach right in front of the hotel, along with several different pools and cabanas to choose from. The beach itself was just amazing, I mean the water was so warm and clean and just felt soothing. The second night we went to Baoli Miami, which was a sushi restaurant/bar but then later in the evening turned into a dance club. The food was fine, not bad but I loved the ambience because we got to dance after dinner. I loved the scene because it was like dancing at a restaurant after dinner but without that whole club scene that I don’t like. We were sitting outside and when we were dancing it started to rain, which was amazing to say the least. Dancing in the rain was one of my favorite moments until it started absolutely pouring and everyone was running inside lol.

I had heard a lot about visiting the Versace Mansion –  it used to be a mansion but has been turned into a luxury boutique hotel. It had a Mediterranean and Italian restaurant called Gianni’s as well. I didn’t hear great reviews about the food, and they were right; I would not go back for their food. The mansion itself was very beautiful, it had so much detail and art and just incredible to take a tour on all floors. The hotel apparently only has eight rooms for booking and they were all booked that night, so we couldn’t see any of them.

Some other places we went to included Joe’s Stone Crab, which has been around for 104 years and is owned by a 4th generation family. It was good food if you love seafood. Mango’s Tropical Café was also a fun spot to go to just to hang out for some drinks and dancing. They have shows and really fun music to just let loose and have fun. We visited LIV nightclub since it was at our hotel during our last night in Miami. The club experience just proved to us even more how we just don’t belong there anymore lol. I would definitely go back to Miami in the near future and hopefully next time we get more sun than rain. ☺
