Vintage Birthday Brunch
Every year as my birthday approaches, I decide that I’m not going to do anything this year, but that never ends up being the case. For the past ten years, I’ve done big gatherings/parties with my closest friends and family. This year, I wanted something more relaxed and easygoing, and to only invite my girls. All my birthday events were always in the evening so I wanted to do something different this year (or maybe it’s because I’m getting old). I came up with the idea of doing a vintage brunch in my backyard with champagne and delicious breakfast food.
My rentals and florals were all from Martha from Martha & Co. I rented two wooden rectangle tables, one to be set up buffet style with all the food, and the other for my guests to be seated around. Around the guest table, I accented with white chairs with gold rims to give the area more of an elegant look so it wasn’t too casual. Since it was such a girlie event, I had Martha design a table runner of beautiful shades of pink flowers in mini clear vases. So as not to make it too busy, each vase featured one type of flower. For my tabletops, I used different patterns and colors from Borrowed Vintage. I had a charger plate, a large plate for breakfast items, and a dessert plate. I included a goblet for juice/water and of course a champagne flute, along with a coffee cup and saucer. I used very pretty gold vintage silverware and topped off the dessert plates with place cards of each of my guests’ names written in gold calligraphy by Angela from Truly.Madly.Ink.
As for the food table, it was platters of yummy breakfast items from LadyBugs Catering that my guests couldn’t get enough of. Since it was a girls only event, of course we had bottomless champagne and mimosas throughout the day. It was a very fun gathering with my girls, and turned out to be exactly what I needed. When all the details around you are pretty, it just makes things that much better ☺
